What a tax invoice generally needs to show

• The words "Tax Invoice" stated clearly on the document
• The seller's identity and ABN
• The date the invoice was issued
• A brief description of what was sold, including quantity and price
• The GST amount payable (or a statement that the total price includes GST)
• For larger sales, the buyer's identity or ABN is generally also required
